Product Details

Historical Significance

The Dunlop Rubber Company, founded in 1889 by John Boyd Dunlop, revolutionized transport with the invention of the pneumatic tyre. By the mid-20th century, Dunlop had become a world leader in tyre manufacturing, known for its performance and reliability both on the road and the racetrack.
The Dunlop Fort line, introduced in the 1930s, quickly became one of the company’s flagship products. Marketed for its toughness and “fortified” construction, the Fort tyre was trusted by motorists across the world for durability and safety.
This stand would have been used in garages or service stations to promote Dunlop Fort tyres — its bright colours and bold lettering designed to catch the eye of passing motorists and workshop customers.

Condition

This piece remains in excellent vintage condition for its age, with bright original paintwork and authentic surface patina consistent with workshop use. The lettering and logo remain clear and vibrant, showcasing the unmistakable Dunlop style. A genuine example of period garage display craftsmanship.
